Fit & care style

What dogs are a good fit for Jurassic Barks?

Jurassic Barks is built for calm, structured care: small groups, intentional integration, regulated social time, and real rest cycles. It’s a great fit for dogs who do best with routine and predictable energy. If you’re unsure, use our Good Fit page →

Do you do meet & greets or trial days?

Yes. We typically start with a short fit check / meet & greet. For longer stays (especially boarding), a trial day is recommended when possible to keep everything calm and predictable.

How does integration work?

Integration is gradual and designed. We introduce dogs with pacing, supervision, and decompression time. We prioritise calm harmony over chaotic pack rotations — because regulation builds better behaviour long-term.

Health & safety

Do you require vaccinations?

Yes. We require up-to-date core vaccinations appropriate for your dog and lifestyle. If you have questions about what’s needed, message us with your dog’s records and we’ll guide you.

What happens if there is an emergency?

We follow a clear emergency protocol and contact you as soon as possible. If no preferred vet is provided, we work with AniCura Atlântico Hospital Veterinário (Mafra).

Can you support anxious dogs?

Often, yes — that’s what our structure is built for. We use predictable rhythm, calm pacing, and rest cycles. If your dog has specific triggers, include them in your request so we can plan properly.

Feeding & behaviour support

My dog eats too fast — can you help?

Yes. For fast eaters or dogs who need a custom meal routine, we recommend Structured Feeding Support so meals stay calm and safer.

What about resource guarding?

We can support many mild–moderate cases with safety-first management: space, clear routines, and careful handling of high-value items. For severe cases, we’ll recommend a more suitable setup.

Do you offer training?

Our care is routine-led and structured (which builds real-life skills). For dedicated training, see Off-Leash Foundations → and we’ll align on what’s realistic for your dog.

Logistics

Will I get updates?

Yes. You’ll receive a daily photo and short update during stays. If anything notable happens, you’ll hear from us quickly.

What should I bring?

Bring your dog’s food (if needed), any required medication with instructions, and something familiar if it helps your dog settle. We’ll confirm details based on your routine.

What is your cancellation policy?

Because we keep limited capacity to protect calm energy, cancellations can impact availability. Your exact policy is confirmed at booking — if plans change, message us as early as possible.

Still unsure?

Send your dog’s details and dates — we’ll tell you quickly if we’re a fit (and what the next step is).
